DIY Cross-over Crop Top

Hello world. Here’s to a new month πŸ™‚

Thanks to the internet you can do pretty much anything, like make this cute cross over crop top by upcycling an old tank.

What you’ll need:

  • stretchy tank top. Emphasis on stretchy!
  • tape measure
  • chalk
  • pair of scissors
  • sewing machine/needle and thread
  • zip (optional)

Place the tank top back side up. Measure how low you want it at the back and mark that on the top; making sure it’ll cover your bra (don’t be shady). Then cut off the bottom like so:

Turn it so that the front faces up. Fold the tank top to get the middle line along the front and cut it open like so:

You can leave it here. Wear it and cross over the bottom pieces to your back and tie a knot; if you’re lazy πŸ˜›

Moving on, now to fasten the back. Two options:

1. Turn the top inside out, place the bottom pieces right sides facing together and straight stitch it like so:

2. Instead of stitching the back, add a zip for easy putting on and taking off πŸ˜‰

You can adjust the neckline depending on your cleavage preference πŸ˜€ I just tucked it. Feel free to hem it for a cleaner look. I didn’t because my tank top is jersey so cut edges simply roll back without fraying.

Isn’t it lovely? That’s my elbow in case you were wondering. I really need to get a photographer though. I’m accepting resumes πŸ˜€

See you on the next one πŸ™‚
